help with transmission from Workabout Via Modem

Hi, i'm a new comer on this group.
i hope we can interchange some tips.

I want to transmit some files via modem from the workabout to a server.
Tryed with the TCP/IP Stack from PSion and it didn't work, it seems to
return some garbage when negotiating the IP with PPP. i posted this error to
Psion Teklogix in Canada and effectively there was an error, so they made
some changes in the Stack. Has anyone had a successful connection with the
stack? (I'm developing in OVAL)

Alternatively, I'm transfering this files via a BBS Connection with the
"Comms" Application that comes with the WorkAbout and even when it is done
correctly, it would be very difficult to execute to my end-users. Do you
know something about the scripting language for Comms?, because i found no
documentation about it.

Any help would be very appreaciated.

While the following was written for EPOC32 machines, the scripting
language is virtually unchanged from that used on the Workabout.

Hello,

Do you try the XYModem control ? Alternativly,
you can contact me about an FTP control. It's a
licensed control but I use it 'perfectly' in some
application (the quality depends on the GSM
provider)

Hello,
Do you try the XYModem control ?
I didn't as it is not included in the OVAL distribution and didn't
find a download site.

Well, there is no GSM provider nearby the end-user will be, there is
just GSPR signal there. But there are analogical phone lines so I'm
using a conventional external modem. Does your FTP control is able to
transmit via a serial connection to an external modem? if does, how
can I obtain it?

Which method do you recommend most?

thank you very much.

Omar,

I have a TcpIp Stack (shareware) that works on the Workabout MX and
have several clients that have implemented realtime data transfers
using a modified version of my eMail-It program (freeware) which
usually requires some customization for each unique situation.

i've tried the Email-It app and had some problems, i tried to write
you to ***@hotmail.com and had no success.

I actually installed Email-It on my workabout and configured ir. But
when it connects to the server, the server returns garbage while the
workabout displays "Logging onto the Internet...".

How do I know it throws garbage?, well, I made a Spy Serial Cable and
"listen" what the workabout and the modem "talk", here, I give you a
successful connection with IP negotiation and later I show you the
communication with Email-It "listened" on the PC with the spy cable.

Can you tell me how to write a correct script, if this is the problem?

Please, I'm stuck on this and I am thinking, of course, about paying
for Email-It, since I need to make modifications to transfer files to
a FTP server and will need your help.

The script above is the one successful, the script that follows is the
one with Email-It on the workabout. As we can see, It does log to the
server (the server's prompt is shown), but it fails when negotiating
IP address, when I tried with the Psion's tcp/ip stack, happened the
same.

¿any suggestion?, ¿any hint?

The garbage you are referring to is TcpIp trying to negotiate PPP,
since the script you provided has completed! You have a problem with
the script you are using. Try:

I thought this info was in the readme.txt file, but I could be wrong.

I believe that no one has yet written a FTP client for my stack.
